Pardon the interruption, but this is the time of year when we ask our community to stand with us.

If you’re reading this, CMCH has probably crossed your path in some way, a concert you attended, your child or grand-child is learning music from us, or simply knowing what this organization means to Houston’s Black cultural life.

CMCH is almost 50 years old. We’re small, we’re lean, and we are doing big, important things. We preserve Black music traditions, teach the next generation, and keep Houston connected through culture.

None of that happens without community support.

When people see the orchestra in all its 45-member glory and hear that big CMCH sound, they may assume CMCH is fully resourced. We’re not. We’re making magic on a lean budget, and we rely on the community’s financial support to sustain our programs and keep this work moving forward.

If CMCH has brought you value this year; joy, pride, connection, or simply the comfort of knowing this important work exists and that CMCH is on the job.

We’re asking you to give whatever amount feels right.

Every single gift matters.

Our goal is $25,000 by January 1 to keep our teaching artists in classrooms, our programs running, and our doors open as we prepare the next chapter of our work.

If CMCH matters to you , even a little bit,
please be one of the people who gives.

Thank you.
