Elizabeth Watkins
Chairperson
A native of St. Louis, she moved to Houston in the 1980’s to earn an M.A. degree in geology from Rice University. She has worked as a petroleum geologist for various oil companies in Houston, Dallas, and Louisiana for over 35 years. She began volunteering in CMCH in the 1990’s to increase her pianist skills. In the 2000’s, she joined the board of directors and became Board Chairperson in the 2010’s. Her most urgent desire at this time is for CMCH to raise the funds to renovate and occupy their historic building as quickly as possible.

Betty Parker
Secretary
Betty Parker brings more than 40 years of experience in music, education, and orchestral performance. A violinist with both a B.A. and M.A. in Music from Texas Southern University, she has been an integral part of CMCH since 1983, beginning with the founding of the Scott Joplin Chamber Orchestra. A retired music educator from the Houston Independent School District, Betty has served on the CMCH Board of Directors since 2007. She remains deeply committed to expanding Black representation within the classical side of Fine Arts and advancing opportunities for young musicians.
Marrio Hinkle
Treasurer
A recognized Contra Mestre of Capoeira Angola, CM Marrio Hinkle has spent decades advancing cultural enrichment through movement, music, and mentorship. Since 1998, SHAPE Community Center has served as the home of his Capoeira Angola group, Kalunga Ngolo, providing a vital space for preserving and sharing African and African diasporic traditions. His commitment to social justice and youth empowerment is reflected in his work with SHAPE Community Center, MECA, and educational programs across Houston, Atlanta, and Belize City, Belize. As a dedicated community leader, educator, and advocate for cultural preservation, CM Marrio brings this same passion and discipline to his role as Board Treasurer at CMCH, ensuring that the power of music, movement, and culture continues to inspire and uplift future generations.
Cora Robinson
Board Member, Building Development Committee
Cora Guinn Robinson brings a strong blend of communication, negotiation, and people‑centered skills to her work as a realtor with George E. Johnson Properties LLC. A recognized diversity and inclusion expert for more than 25 years, she has a proven record of building successful, mutually beneficial partnerships. Cora has been an active community volunteer, contributing her time to the Houston Association of Realtors, The Links, the Houston Area Urban League, Carrousels of Houston, Delta Sigma Theta, and of course, the Community Music Center of Houston. She is also a Platinum Real Estate Agent.

Jasmine Quinerly, ABR, CNS, GAA, RAA
Board Member, Building Development Committee
Jasmine Quinerly brings more than 25 years of experience working with individuals and organizations—both for‑profit and nonprofit—to close deals, strengthen operations, and support community growth. She is an experienced Realtor with G. K. Coleman & Sons Real Estate Appraisals and Sales, as well as a certified appraiser and a minister at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. Jasmine’s leadership includes service on the boards of Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, the United Church of Christ National Board (where she served as President), the National Society of Real Estate Appraisers, and the Black Real Estate Association of Houston. Ingrid Burley
Board Member - Assistant Secretary
Ingrid Burley is songwriter and an Artist from Third Ward area of Houston, TX. She is a Rap Artist who lived in Brooklyn for 6 years and wrote more than 100 songs with Beyoncé every day for 3 years. Ingrid was the first artist Beyoncé signed to Parkwood Entertainment record label and has been in a music publishing deal with Sony ATV for 13 years. She earned a Grammy for a song on the Lemonade Album and was acknowledged as a Grammy Participant songwriter for the track “Blast!” on Durand Bernarr’s 2025 album Bloom, which won Best Progressive R&B Album. She is an abstract artist, DJ, and financial administrative assistant. She hopes to help CMCH continue providing to young Black creatives the musical access and creative space that is reminiscent of her own artistic journey. Instagram.
